Christians Legislating Morality in America

Conservatives, Republicans, and Tea Party members espouse deregulation and complain that the government is too involved in the personal lives of Americans. Teabaggers talk about the tyranny that President Obama is forcing on them with HCR and the unfair taxes on individuals.

With all the cries from the ultra right-wing-nut-jobs for deregulation, one would conclude that the neo-cons would adopt a “live and let live” attitude. But when it comes to personal, very private aspects of life, the religious right takes on a contrary mindset.

It is alarming that many Republican and teabagger candidates are pushing for moral regulations, and the standards are from the Christian bible. Many of these maniacs are sitting Senators and Congressman. Jim DeMint (SC-R) is a bible-thumper on a mission to turn America into a Theocracy with his Christian-influenced hatred for gays, women, and blacks.

In Virginia, Ken Cuccinelli is imposing his extremist Christian beliefs on the people of his state, and the governor, Jim McDonnell, is a bigot toward gays. McDonnell, along with Cuccinelli, has made it very difficult for women to have an abortion contrary to the law. As more of these radical extremist Christians attain positions of authority, they will make their religious beliefs the law of the land.

Representative Alan Grayson’s (FL-D) opponent, Daniel Webster, is proposing stoning for murder, adultery, heresy, and witchcraft that comes directly from the bible. There are laws in America to deal with murder, but Webster wants to legislate HIS extremist Old Testament laws and punishment so all Americans will follow ancient Jewish mythological rules.

America is not a Christian nation, and the Constitution guarantees the right of religious freedom, whether that means being a Muslim or an atheist. It is likely that any law the radical extremist Christians enact will be struck down as unconstitutional, but the point is the Taliban mindset is gaining momentum and it is a direct threat to liberty.

It is time for moderate Christians to rebuke the Christian Dominionist and Reconstructionist cults as heretical and evil. In Modesto, there are letters to the editor espousing bible rules and god commands every other day as if their religion controls everyone. Christians like to ask the question, “What would Jesus do?” but there is silence from the majority of true Christians. The extremist Christians never ask what Jesus would do because they know he would not condone their actions.

America’s greatness was the freedom to pursue happiness and practice any religion, or no religion, but radical Christians want to destroy America from within by persecuting non-believers with their terrorist tactics. The Constitution says there is supposed to be NO religious test for serving our country, but maggots like Cuccinelli, DeMint, and Webster are making overtures toward a theocratic rule in America.

Idiotic candidates like Angle, O’Donnell and the ever-annoying Palin are pushing Stone Age mythology on the country and no-one is overly concerned. If Americans don’t push back on these extremists we will wish the Taliban were in charge because Christians smile sweetly while they tell you they want to kill you in god’s name. They are hypocrites for condemning Islam at the same time they promote radical Christian rules on Americans.
